JT has won two Gemini awards (Canada’s equivalent to the Emmy); one for “The Agony of Bhopal” in 1988, and one for “Fall of the Berlin Wall” in 1990. His first book, Cascadia’s Fault, won the Canadian Science Writers’ Association award for best book of 2011.

Raincoast Storylines documentaries have won a variety of honours including four additional Gemini nominations (The Parkinson’s Enigma in 2002, Stopping Traffik in 2000, Quake Hunters in 1999, and Mystics, Mechanics & Mindbombs in 1998) as well as Golden Sheaf, Leo, Chris, New York Television Festival, and Canadian Science Writers’ Association awards.

JT is a member of The Writers Guild of Canada, The Writers’ Union of Canada, ACTRA, The Union of BC Performers, and The Canadian Science Writers’ Association.
